Fall Protection Supervisor

 


 

Course Synopsis:

Users of active fall protection systems must be competently supervised by trained and experienced supervisors and safety personnel. It’s all about risk. Attendees are trained in the identification, hazard assessment and proper mitigation of industrial fall hazards.

 

What you will learn:

Day 1 Advanced Program in Fall Protection.

Topics to include:

Risk Assessment, Anchorage, Hierarchy of Fall Protection System Selection, Specialized Lifeline Systems, Primary and Secondary Fall Protection Principles, Fall Protection Codes and Regulations (Federal, Provincial, CNOPB), Auditing Fall Protection Usage, Fall Restraint vs. Fall Arrest Systems

 

Day 2 Industrial Fall Response.

Topics to include:

Rescue Planning, Self Rescue Techniques, Suspension Trauma, Fall Victim Treatment, and more. This day will also feature the “hands-on” demonstration of one- and two-person pick off rescue techniques utilizing commercially available pre-rigged industrial fall rescue equipment.

 

Day 3 Competent Fall Protection Equipment Inspector.

Topics to include:

Inspection Codes and Regulations (Federal, Provincial, CNOPB), Manufacturer’s Standards, Equipment Inspection Standards for Full Body Harnesses, Lanyards, Connectors, Vertical Lifelines, Rope Grabs, Anchorage Connectors, and Self Retracting Lifelines.

 

Note: This course will qualify students to recognize fall from height hazards and to have the ability to mitigate those hazards. This course does not qualify the student to teach fall protection courses.

 

Who should attend:

This course is intended for any Safety Officer, Director, or Manager with supervisory, inspection or audit responsibility for Fall Protection on worksites and industrial establishments.  Note: This course will qualify students to recognize fall from height hazards and to have the ability to mitigate those hazards. This course does not qualify the student to teach fall protection courses.
