In accordance with the new CSA Z797 Standard – all personnel who use (but do not erect or modify) supported scaffolds must be trained and authorized as scaffold users. This program instructs corporate trainers to deliver a short training course to inform scaffold users of the many considerations and hazards associated with supported scaffold use.
Beginning with a thorough discussion of the human and legal requirements for supported scaffold safety, the program introduces trainers to the principles of adult learning for industrial safety training and proper procedures for:
- Scaffold User Regulations, Roles and Responsibilities
- Scaffold Capacity/ Loading Hazards
- Access and Fall Protection
- Falling Object Protection/ Prevention
- Electrical/ Environmental Hazards
- Scaffold Operating Hazards
Trainers will also learn to develop several practical, site-specific, hands-on exercises for their trainees. This course also includes one additional certification, namely Hightek’s “Competent Scaffold Inspector”.
Who should attend:
This course is intended for corporate “in house” trainers only and requires licensing to utilize Hightek’s “AXS – Authorized Scaffold User” curriculum. The course is a three year certification, after which a recertification is required. Please note: The AXS – Authorized Scaffold User program is intended for any worker who is required to use (but not erect, modify or dismantle) supported scaffolds on a worksite.
